Central American Legal Assistance (CALA) is a non-profit organization in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that provides free or low-cost legal representation for asylum-seekers hailing from Central American countries.
These short documentaries were created to highlight the impactful stories of some of CALA’s clients, and to help the organization to continue to raise funding to provide their services to asylum-seekers.
Made as simply as possible with a production crew of one, the intention was always to let the subjects tell their stories in an honest, human way.
